The flesh of the cantaloupe is pastel-like in color and is an important source of vitamin A and vitamin C. It is also a very good source of potassium and dietary fiber, vitamin B1, vitamin B3, vitamin B6, folate, magnesium, and vitamin K.

Store your ripe cantaloupe immediately in the refrigerator, ideally in a crisper bin where there is usually slightly higher humidity. About three to four days is the maximum amount of time that you'll want to store ripe cantaloupe.
